About

Benoît Astier de Villatte and Ivan Pericoli founded their company in 1996, together with members of the Astier de Villatte family and friends from the École des Beaux-Arts. They draw their inspiration from the history of decorative arts, popular arts and neglected objects.

Gradually, the duo assumed sole responsibility for the company, building its reputation through word-of-mouth rather than advertising strategies.

In this way, Astier de Villatte constructed a unique identity, combining multiple creative activities:

• An artisanal ceramics workshop in Paris, following in the tradition of 18  -century Parisian manufacturers and bringing the art of stamping up to date;

• A letterpress printing plant at l’Haÿ-les-Roses, one of the last in the world to print books using lead;

• A publishing house;

• A perfume creation workshop.

Astier de Villatte sells its creations in its four boutiques — two in Paris, one in Seoul and one in Milan — as well as in 55 countries around the world, through retailers such as John Derian in New York, Sue Fisher King in San Francisco, Liberty in London and Isetan in Tokyo.

From the manufacture of ceramics to the recreation of historic perfumes, not to mention the complete conception of a one-of-a-kind guide to Paris, the company tackles a wide range of fields, bringing to life pieces that are as original as they are unexpected.
